A plan is an important step in weight loss.  Short term diets do not work; sustainable weight loss necessitates a lifestyle change.  It requires making long-term sacrifices and incorporating a healthy diet.  It is not easy in the beginning, but as you see the benefits in increased energy and other health benefits, it becomes a new way of life.
